Recycling FAQs
Do you pay for recyclable materials?
Yes, for high-value materials like clean OCC (cardboard) in large quantities, we may offer rebates. For most materials, we provide free pickup as an alternative to paid disposal. Contact us with details about your materials for specific pricing.
What if I have mixed materials?
We accept mixed loads - our facility handles sorting. However, pre-sorted materials may qualify for better rates or rebates. We can provide containers for different material types if you prefer to sort on-site.
Do you provide containers for recycling programs?
Yes, for scheduled service accounts, we can provide gaylord boxes, roll-off containers, or other collection solutions at no additional cost. Container size depends on your volume and space availability.
What documentation do you provide?
Every load receives a certificate of recycling including date, weight, material type, and processing method. We can also provide annual summaries and custom reports for corporate sustainability programs.
Can you handle hazardous materials?
No, we do not accept hazardous materials, chemicals, or containers with unknown contents. IBC totes and containers must be properly cleaned and certified free of hazardous residue before we can accept them.
What is the minimum quantity for pickup?
For one-time pickups, we generally require a minimum of 1 truckload (about 20-24 pallets or equivalent). Smaller quantities can be brought to our facility. Scheduled service accounts have more flexibility.
How far do you travel for pickups?
We provide pickup service throughout Ohio and neighboring states (Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia). Locations outside this area can contact us for special arrangements.
What happens to the recycled materials?
Wood becomes mulch, animal bedding, or biomass fuel. Cardboard is baled and sent to paper mills. Plastics are granulated for reprocessing. Steel from IBC cages goes to metal recyclers. We partner with certified downstream processors.
